I'd like to start by introducing myself. My name is Robert. I am a Professional Landscape Architect, business owner, and father of three.
My background in the Army, firefighting, and professional MMA career built the discipline behind everything I do.
Today, I combine that foundation with creativity and design expertise to create outdoor environments that are as functional as they are unforgettable.

My name is Robert Ryan, and I’m the owner of Emerald Lawn & Land Creations, a design-build landscape company built on discipline, creativity, and purpose.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple goal: to create outdoor spaces that feel like an extension of your home. A places where you can relax, entertain, and spend meaningful time with family and friends for years to come.
Before becoming a Landscape Architect, my background included service in the military, firefighting, and professional athletics. Those experiences shaped the way I approach my work today. Instilling discipline, accountability, and the ability to stay composed and solution-focused in any situation. More importantly, they taught me how to take care of people, communicate clearly, and follow through on what I say I’m going to do. These values directly define how I run my business and how I serve my clients.
Creativity has always been a natural part of who I am. I've always enjoyed being out in nature and creating memories and experiences. Now, I bring those experiences and memories right to your homes yard and outdoor living enjoyment.
I’ve always had the ability to visualize spaces, almost like having a built-in 3D rendering program in my mind. That instinct, combined with my formal education in Landscape Architecture from Auburn University, along with a minor in horticulture and my credentials as a (PLA) licensed in Alabama, allows me to transform ideas into intentional, functional, and visually striking outdoor environments.
With over 12 years of experience in the landscaping industry. Much of it built hands-on while working, studying, and raising a young family.
I’ve had the opportunity to work across the full spectrum of projects. From simple sod and groundcover installations, irrigation system audits and repairs, to full-scale backyard transformations featuring custom in-ground pools and luxury outdoor living spaces,
each project has contributed to a deeper understanding of both design and execution.
My journey into this industry became deeply personal during my junior year of college, when I found out I was going to be a father. That moment gave me clarity and purpose. It pushed me to build something meaningful, something lasting, a true legacy. That decision became the foundation of Emerald Lawn & Land Creations.
Today, as a father of 3. My oldest, Teigen (10), my only daughter, and my 2 sons, Warren (9) and Odin (4). I carry that same sense of responsibility into everything I do. All three of my kids, like myself, are redheads, which means there’s no shortage of personality, a little stubbornness… and just enough fire to make sure things are done right.
That perspective shapes how I design.
I don’t just create landscapes. I design environments that enhance the way you live. A place to unwind after a long day. A space to host friends and family. An outdoor setting that feels natural, functional, and built with intention, something you can enjoy with friends and family, not just today, but for years to come!
My design philosophy is rooted in working with nature, "not against it." Creating spaces that are both beautiful and sustainable, That function in harmony with the land they’re built on.
